Babette’s The Steakhouse caught the attention of my eyes. It is located in a luxurious boutique hotel (Hotel Muse) that is just a few steps away from the service apartment that I stayed in.
When I stepped into the restaurant, I was mesmerized to see a romantic ambience and lovely royal-red couch. We were ushered into a cozy quiet corner which makes the whole dining experience remarkable and unique.
Interestingly I have always imagined a romantic dinner in a luxurious restaurant with foie gras in the menu. That’s apparently how media portrayed fine dining should be like. In any case, foie gras is a luxurious food item with a supreme taste. I would have to admit that its an exquisite taste because it could be a hit or a miss for you. Unfortunately its a miss for me. But here’s a glimpse of Babette’s take on Foie Gras.
The next appetiser for this meal was scallop with strips of bacon. The bacon was crispy and salty that blends very well with the slightly firm and springy scallops.
It’s time for main star of the meal: THE STEAK! At medium-rare, the meat on the outer layer is cooked just nice with the inside slightly raw.
Side dishes to compliment the main star. Well seasoned soft and savoury mashed potatoes that were so addictive.
Another side dish that goes very well with the steak is the creamy spinach with almonds. It was slightly salty and it’s a unique dish with almond flakes that give it a good crunch to it. Creamed Spinach with almond.
When dessert was served, my eyes lit up. The presentation of this chocolate, mango mousse topped with coconut flakes dessert represented a desert. The chocolate used was dark chocolate and both of us love it alot. As for the mango and coconut flakes, they don’t quite appeal to us. Dessert – chocolate, mango mousse.
That kinda sums up my splendid dinner at Babette’s. If I am heading to Bangkok and celebrating a special occasion, I might probably be dining back here 😀
