Sometimes all it takes is one comforting bowl to make the wait completely worth it. I finally visited Samgyetang at Mandarin Gallery after hearing so much about their signature ginseng chicken soup, and yes, the queue is real. But honestly, I get the hype now.
I went for the Beauty Collagen Samgyetang, served with a whole spring chicken sitting in a bubbling herbal broth. The soup was rich, flavorful and deeply comforting without feeling heavy. Every spoonful tasted slow-boiled and nourishing, infused with ginseng and herbs that made the meal feel almost like wellness in a bowl.

The chicken itself was incredibly soft. I was so surprised that the meat comes off the bone effortlessly with just a gentle pull. It soaked up all the flavours of the broth, making each bite tender and satisfying without needing anything extra.
We also had the Black Chicken! Broth is delicious as well.

The sides surprised me too. The pollock banchan was really enjoyable, savoury with a nice chew that paired well with the soup.

The minari pancake arrived crispy on the outside and soft inside, light yet comforting, and honestly something I would order again just on its own.

The Tofu Samhap was surprising refreshing. In order to enjoy it, stacking layers of relish and seaweed is the way to go.

Well, for the Corn Fries, this is fairly an interesting side. However, this is not my cup of tea. I’ll prefer Minari pancake over this.

Service also stood out. The waitress was attentive and friendly despite the crowd, which made the experience feel welcoming rather than rushed.
Yes, there was a long wait. But after finishing that bowl, it felt completely justified. Some meals are just worth slowing down for.
I ended the meal slowly enjoying a pot of Tangerine Peel Tea.

And to finish, walnuts rolled in dried persimmon. Such a sweet little ending to a truly satisfying meal.
