Dinner at Kebaya Dining Room turned out to be one of those meals where some dishes shine brighter than others. Overall, we left the table very happy and extremely full.
Upon entering, we were greeted by beautifully curated Peranakan pieces. Such as antique cabinets, intricate tiles, and delicate kebaya-inspired touches that make the space feel both elegant and warmly nostalgic.

Starters

Satay (Chicken Skewers)
The chicken satay was decent enough to start the meal, though it didn’t quite steal the spotlight. Think of it as a pleasant warm-up and tasty, but not the most memorable dish of the night.
Otak-Otak Puff
Now this one was a pleasant surprise. Crispy on the outside and packed with fragrant otak filling inside, it was honestly addictive. The kind of starter that makes you immediately wish you ordered more.
Mains
Chicken Goreng

A beautifully fried chicken leg with a bold seasoning. The spice level leaned slightly heavier than expected, but it still delivered that satisfying crunchy-outside, juicy-inside experience.
Beef Buah Keluak

The highlight of the mains. The beef was incredibly tender and soaked up the rich, earthy buah keluak gravy beautifully. Comforting, indulgent, and definitely one of the standout dishes.
Vegetables
Sambal Goreng

A hearty mix that leaned a little on the sweeter side, with a slightly starchy texture. The cashew nuts added a nice crunch though, which helped balance things out.
Chef’s Vegetable of the Day (Cher Chai)

Simple and fresh, though the seasoning tipped a little too salty for our liking.
By the time we have finished everything else, we were completely stuffed. And dessert was simply impossible. HAHAHAHA
