I had been eyeing The Islander Workshop for a while, so before the trip I made sure to book a slot. I wasn’t going to miss the chance to create my own bag!
On the day itself, the hardest part wasn’t the crafting. It was choosing the design. The workshop has so many beautiful options, from the classic Harris Tweed covers to all sorts of body, straps, trims, and linings. I took forever matching colours and patterns before finally deciding on one that felt like me.
Once the design was set, the fun part began. Assembling the pieces was actually pretty simple, and the instructor for the workshop was super helpful in guiding us through each step. Watching the bag come together piece by piece made it feel extra special, something that’s truly mine.
By the end, I walked away not just with a bag, but with a little memory stitched into every detail. A mix of craft, creativity, and a sweet keepsake to bring home from Scotland.
