Harry Potter vibes street – Victoria Street

Built in the early 19th century, the street was part of urban improvements to replace steeper, narrower lanes. Its Flemish-style architecture, mixed with cobbled lanes and historic facades, creates a charming aesthetic

Today, it’s a bustling area full of boutiques, cafés, and independent shops, from artisan crafts to Harry-Potter-themed stores

Thanks to where we stayed, we could simply stroll over before the crowds arrived, and this made it feel like having the place all to ourselves.

There’s a history of witches in Scotland and it’s interesting to come by a number of witchery shops. Victoria Street is often known as J.K. Rowling’s inspiration for Diagon Alley. It’s easy to see why. The narrow staircases, arched shopfronts, and window displays crammed with spellbooks, cauldrons, and broomsticks. Stores like Museum Context are filled with Harry-Potter-themed treasures, from Hogwarts house scarves to collectibles that would make any witch or wizard swoon.
